friday - poker night at aaron and liane's. i know next to nothing about poker; i always mix up straights and flushes and whether or not each one has to have the same suit under what circumstances, and it seems to be played with differing rules every time i play. *g* still, i did manage to come out 10c ahead on the night, and there were wonderful cookies :) these made up for me completely screwing up the mashed potatoes earlier that night. note to self: never EVER let a hand-mixer seduce you for making mashed potatoes, no matter how much your wrist aches. it will turn into potato chowder.

saturday - lazing about day. didn't end up leaving steve's for andrew's housewarming (no, not [livejournal.com profile] kallmir2000andrew, different one, friend of steve's *ggl*) until after six, and then it took nearly an hour and a half to get out to phillipston (north of the quabbin, for you massachusettsians playing along at home). good relaxing fun; amusing punk cover band on the cd player covering musicals; crokinole and goat cheese. and racing [livejournal.com profile] mrieser half the way home until we turned off 2E at 495. ;) and [livejournal.com profile] noghri said we'd never catch up to him *snerk*

sunday - the big e! marcie and melissa both ended up coming along, so the five of us (me, steve, scott, marcie and melissa) had fun wandering around, stuffing ourselves silly. even with the idea of "oh, if we split things, we'll be able to try more!" we still exited the fair five pounds heavier than when we entered ;) basically, for the uninitiated, the big e is the humongous new england states' fair, held every year at the exposition grounds in west springfield, ma. food consumed included clam fritters, finnish pancakes, lemon ice, kettle corn, lobster rolls (with REAL lobster meat, fresh from the claws, none of that canned shredded fakey business), maine baked potatoes (mmm, with cheese and sour cream and butter mashed in and chives and bacos on top), blueberry juice, three different kinds of milk, apple cider, and apple pie with cheese :) well, marcie and i ate that. [livejournal.com profile] noghri was completely scared by it (and scarred, too ;) even more so than the dancing ronald mcdonald atop a caravan in the parade). [livejournal.com profile] elemmire7, tell him how wonderful it is! (he kept looking at it and going, "that is so wrong!")

traffic on the way back was hellacious; steve is wonderful. even though i got him up on a sunday before he normally gets up on a weekday ;)

monday - good god, i'm sleepy. what the hell am i doing awake and at work at this hour? :P oh, right, being awake enough to wish [livejournal.com profile] jessical a happy and healthy birthday. ;) happy birthday, hon!

oh, and i want more finnish pancakes. luckily, i have the recipe! which i am going to pass along to you all by writing it down here before i forget and lose the card!
