I really wanted to try horse when I was in Italy on the dig, but everybody else was too creeped out - so I'm jealous. I think growing up eating all sorts of not-stereotypically-American meats might make me less picky about food than I would've been otherwise, though. (My mom had me eating & enjoying Blut-zungenwurst for years before she told me what was in it - and after I found out, it seemed silly to fuss.)
