so coworker l comes by to let us know there's an ice cream bar in the courtyard. and we're down five-zip to the ROYALS. so i go outside, sit back in the sun with a bowl of ice cream, and enjoy the sunshine.

and then i come back in and varitek's hit his first grand slam ever and we're up 9-5.

clearly, this is a mandate from god that i have to eat ice cream whenever the sox are losing. ([personal profile] bitty, you're still not allowed to watch them, though. ;) )

Yeah, I've resisted all temptation to watch.

It's been sad that we've been having t *work* to beat the Royals. Our pitching is so bad that only our batting and their [5 in one game?!?!?!?!?] errors still give us the win.

Gah! I come home and open boston.com and... the game's not over yet! It's 10-8! WTF!
*sob*
WE'RE PLAYING THE WORST TEAM IN BASEBALL, FOLKS! IT SHOULDN'T BE THIS DIFFICULT.
*sigh*

Ahhh, it's August.
As a Yankees fan I love August and September.
Except last year, that sucked.

*ducks again knowing this time I AM gonna get it*

*snicker*

I love the Kansas City and the Royals. Where else can you show up at 1:15 for a 1:30 game and get seats right between home and first base for $20?

It's cuz they are a minor league team.

*ducks*

A guy in my office said to send Manny there, to see what playing in an empty stadium is like. Sigh $20 tickets to a game. You make a girl dream.

It's sadly true. Back when Ewing Kaufmann owned the team, the Royals were actually a powerhouse that won World Series.

But since then, they've been owned by a charitable trust and David Glass of Wal-Mart, neither of whom have provided any sort of leadership.

On the bright side, they have a gorgeous park. And they do have plenty of barbeque there! I'm contemplating a visit next year just for the BBQ and cheap baseball.

Oddly,
Hyoun

God, in his ever wise wisdom, wants it to be so, so bear your ice-cream eating burden with resolve and patience! ;)
